WHAT ABOUT DISNEY MAGICAL EXPRESS?
Disney started a service called the Magical Express in 2005. We at Astro have heard horror stories about this service (lost luggage, luggage not arriving until the middle of the night, luggage never turning up, missed flights due to buses being way behind schedule, etc). Disney can not be blamed for the bad quality of service as Disney does not manage the Magical Express. It's ran by Mears Transportation. It's much like public transportation, crowded with people standing around with long waits while the bus makes all its stops. Our customers have told us stories and their reasons why they no longer use them when they visit Orlando. Riding on a 45 passenger bus with people waiting until the bus is filled is not the most fun way to start off or spend a chunk of your vacation. On these free shuttles your luggage does not even come with you - it arrives later. Getting to Disney should only take 30 minutes, however with these free shuttles you are adding stops at 5, 6, 7 different hotels which can quickly add another 30 to 40 minutes to your drive. We have heard from our customers that the line wait alone, to board the shuttle, can take up to 45 minutes.
